Sarah Chocron named Morehead-Cain Scholar

Congratulations to senior Sarah Chocorn on her receipt of one of only 76 Morehead-Cain Scholarships through the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill!

The Morehead-Cain Scholarship covers all expenses for four years of undergraduate study at UNC-Chapel Hill, plus features a distinctive program of summer enrichment experiences. Criteria for selection include leadership, moral force of character, academic achievement, and physical vigor; and recipients are chosen based on their record of inspiring peers to work together, displaying courage and humility, and thriving in an academically rigorous environment.

Sarah has served as the editor-in-chief of our literary magazine; plays piano at WCS and in city-wide ensembles; serves as our drumline captain; and has taught other students in Wichita. Sarah also leads programming and marketing for the robotics team, has created her own AI independent study, and works as a freelance website designer.

We're so proud of Sarah and her accomplishments and feel confident she'll go on to do amazing things at UNC-Chapel Hill and beyond! She intends to study computer science and cognitive science. // Learn more about the Morehead-Cain Scholarship here.
