Across the miles and over the decades Wichita Collegiate School graduates remember one thing for sure – the school motto. It is sometimes called out from one Spartan to another in a crowded airport or down a crowded sidewalk. These powerful words meaning Prove Yourself Worthy may come from another time, however, they succinctly speak what the founders believed and hoped. This school has led students in the pursuit of knowledge and wisdom for sixty years. To take part in this significant and noble journey requires personal effort on the part of students of all ages.  On this journey WCS reminds students to embrace the actions required to learn, to grow, to care, and to make a difference. In this way from the smallest child to the oldest graduate we are linked with the desire to be worthy of the opportunity this education provides, worthy of the sacrifices families make, worthy of the dedication of their teachers and coaches, worthy of their own talents and passions and purpose. The mothers who wrote the school song included the phrase in the beautiful lyrics.

Dear Collegiate may you always hold the staff of knowledge high.

May your vision and your wisdom glow across the prairie sky.

May the years bring truth and beauty to each soul who’s touched your door.

May we live for God and duty, Proba Te Dignum evermore.

Whenever our student body sings the song, the tiny voices and stronger ones blend in a statement of who we are as a school because of the efforts of every single person who has learned here. Never doubt that Proba Te Dignum is a way of life. It is reaching deep within to access our potential and our passion and throwing ourselves into the world …. evermore.
