Teacher Supporting Student

This is a special year in Collegiate's history as we will celebrate our 60th year. Our school was started with just a handful of families getting together to form a new private school in east Wichita. Over the past 60 years, due to the efforts of many, it has grown to be a school that has impacted the lives of thousands of students and their families. We have distinguished alumni who have made an impact on the communities they serve throughout our nation. Our school has celebrated numerous state championships, award-winning dramatic productions, and national academic recognition. We will celebrate both the legacy of our history and the bright future ahead of us as we look forward to adding to that history through the many accomplishments of our students who will once again impress us in the classroom, on the stage, and in our athletic arenas.

In a recent leadership team retreat, we discussed how important it was for our school to have a clear vision of the student experience at Collegiate. As we set out to celebrate our 60th anniversary, I feel it is important to share with the community an outline of that vision and how we are all proud to be Spartans. A link to an article on Who We Are! Our Pyramid of Excellence and our Key Principles can be found here. I encourage you all to become familiar with the information it contains.

Our mission and vision statements were created with the idea that we would always know what we are working for and towards. We, as a leadership team, feel a great sense of responsibility as we guide our beloved school into its next sixty years. Our mission statement states, “We exist to inspire all students to be the best versions of themselves through a transformative education grounded in academic excellence within our inclusive community.” It is this belief that drives us as we work with every single student. We work to create a solid foundation for each student so that they feel confident as they grow into the unique individuals they are on our campus.

Our vision statement states, “We empower all students to lead lives of impact by partnering with our students, faculty, families, and community.” While our school community is small, we recognize that we are just a small piece of a much larger puzzle. This vision statement encourages us to help our students focus on the larger picture and ultimately how they can lead a life that will impact others for good.

Our sixtieth year will be full of many celebrations as we acknowledge how far we have come. However, know that our future growth is never far from our mind as we strive for our next sixty years and beyond!
