SUPPORT FOR LEARNING NEEDS

Wichita Collegiate School recognizes each student as an individual learner who uses a variety of strategies to find success in meeting their personal learning needs and goals. The Student Support Team, composed of the Academic Support Coordinators and Director of Curriculum, works alongside families, teachers, and support staff in our school to identify the needs of each student and provide the necessary tools and strategies to help them succeed.  In the event a student requires additional strategies and supports beyond the typical scope of the classroom, the division Academic Support Coordinator creates a Support Plan to outline the goals and accompanying strategies for the student, parents, and teachers to employ.  The Student Support Team continually monitors and tracks the learning strategies that best fit each student, working cooperatively and collaboratively across divisions to provide coordinated, personalized support across a student’s entire educational journey at WCS.

We have had such amazing success with our two children in the program. Our teachers’ and tutor’s attention to detail is phenomenal and have left no stone unturned when it comes to our children’s accommodations, learning plans, tutoring sessions and after school tutorials. We are so very grateful to Collegiate for offering this assistance to learning different children!
