EARLY CHILDHOOD TRADITIONAL PROGRAM

The Early Childhood Academic Program is designed to inspire young children to explore, discover, and create. The development of the whole child is emphasized through active participation in a setting that is beautiful, child-friendly, and safe. Both traditional and Montessori programs are offered.

The curriculum is carefully designed to include a balance of teacher-directed and child-initiated learning experiences. Teachers are responsive to the interests of the children and support individualized study of such interests. The relationships teachers establish with each child provide a foundation for optimal learning, secure attachment, and social success.

Our traditional preschool and kindergarten program at Wichita Collegiate Early Childhood is a multi-sensory, child-centered approach to early education. We provide a well-balanced program suitable to each child's developmental needs within a warm and nurturing environment. Our program is centered on a hands-on curriculum with learning experiences to enhance skills in language, social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development. Integrated thematic units of study are used to engage the interest of our young learners.

Our colorful classrooms filled with a wide variety of engaging materials make learning meaningful and fun. Children enjoy both group and individual presentations in subject areas such as math, science, and reading readiness with a large emphasis on phonemic awareness. Teachers work closely with students to monitor their progress to ensure that every child develops into an independent learner.
