SUMMER EXPLORATIONS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Registration takes place on a web-based registration system called ACTIVE Network. Please register by using the REGISTER button on the Summer Explorations homepage. If you have used ACTIVE in the past to register for Summer Explorations or Collegiate Enrichment Academy, please use the same account that is linked to your email. Please do not set up multiple accounts. If you forgot your password, you can reset it according to the instructions.

The ACTIVE Network provides a secure site for each user account. The parent portal provides access to each user's account information including enrollment history, payment plans, balance, and printable receipts for all transactions. You can access the parent portal by clicking the ‘PARENT PORTAL’ button on the Summer Explorations homepage.

What web browser may I use to register on the ACTIVE platform?

This system is fully tested to work properly on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Google Chrome. We find that desktop versions tend to work best for registration on this platform.

My browser timed out. Is there any way to stop that from happening?

For security reasons, all of the registration form pages on ACTIVE.com have preset time limits for completion. Here is some guidance that should make your time in ACTIVE (our registration platform) more smooth.

  1. There is a time limit of 60 minutes of inactivity for the registration form, but if you move your mouse, click on the screen, or type, the timer will restart.

  2. There is a time limit of 15 minutes to complete check-out. You have 15 minutes to finish once you hit the check-out page.

  3. If you are having trouble, you may call the ACTIVE customer support line at (877) 228-4881 from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM (CST) Monday through Friday.

How do I find the classes I want to register for?

The registration site lets you search using filters one at a time. The classes are alphabetical in chronological order by date.

Are payment plans available?

A 40% deposit is due upon registration. Balances are due the Wednesday before the class begins. For all summer classes, balances owed can be spread out over 3 payments and are due according to the payment option you chose when you register.

What is the Summer Explorations cancellation and refund policy?

Payments will be refunded if any activity/event is cancelled by Wichita Collegiate School at any time. If the event is NOT cancelled, a refund minus an administration fee for each course will be given if the request to withdraw is made by email prior to two weeks before the first day of class. The administration fee will be either $25.00 or 5.5% of the class fee, whichever is greater. 

Who needs to fill out the KDHE Health form and Emergency Medical Release form?

  • Enrollees in Camp Collegiate, Spartan Quest, and Young Explorers

  • All children 5 years old and under (Current WCS preschool students have these forms already on file and do not need to submit them again.)

  • All classes located in the Early Childhood building

What are the Summer Explorations hours?

The hours vary depending on the class, but most half-day classes are 9:00 AM – 11:30 AM and most full-day classes are 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. 

Kids Club is only available to students that attend the full-day licensed classes 7:30-9:00 AM and 3:00-5:30 PM.

Is lunch available?

A daily nutritious lunch is available to students that attend full-day licensed classes. Lunch is included in the tuition for Little Spartans Day Camp. Other students can purchase nutritious box lunches by the week for $30.00 on the registration site.
