College Enrollment — The 62 members of the Class of 2007 received 229 offers of admission to more than 81 different colleges and universities in four countries, as well as merit-based scholarship offers of more than $2 million. Members of the class of 2007 are attending Baylor University, Berklee College of Music, Dartmouth College, Emporia State University, Furman University, Illinois Wesleyan University, Iowa State University, Kansas State University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Mid-America Nazarene University, Northwestern University, Oklahoma State University, Regis University, Savannah College of Art & Design, Southern Methodist University, University of Georgia, University of Iowa, University of Kansas, University of Michigan, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, University of Notre Dame, University of Tulsa, University of York (England), Wake Forest University, Washburn University, Washington University, and Wichita State University. Virtually 100 percent of WCS graduates go on to college. Since 1967, more than half of our graduates have attended one of the 100 best colleges and universities in the nation, as ranked by U.S. News and World Report. National Merit Recognition Historically, an average of 15 to 20 percent of WCS graduates are recognized each year as National Merit Finalists, Semifinalists, or Commended Students. Over the past four years, forty-eight WCS students have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. In the fall of 2007, nine of the sixty-three members of the Class of 2008 were honored as National Merit Semifinalists or Commended Students. |
