Malone Scholars Program

About the Malone Scholars Program

In May of 2008, Wichita Collegiate was one of 3 schools in the nation selected by the Malone Family Foundation to receive a $2 million grant for the funding of educational opportunities for gifted students with financial need in Grades 7 – 12.
Every year, the Foundation researches independent schools across the country and invites 40 of those schools to apply for the endowment. After reviewing the applications, the Foundation selects 10 schools as finalists, and then chooses 3 top schools in the nation to receive the endowment.

The Malone Foundation selects its partner schools on the basis of:

• Academic caliber
• Quality of faculty and staff
• Excellent accommodations for gifted and talented students
• Strong AP and enrichment programs
• Attention to the individual student’s needs, interests and talents
• Financial strength and stability
• A commitment to financial aid
• An economically, culturally, ethnically, and socially diverse population
