Co-Curricular Offerings
Math Challenge	for 5th and 6th graders begins Mon. Oct 19 in MS room 11.  We meet every Monday and Wednesday at 7:15 am until March.  Sign up with Mrs. Rothwell if you want to join us.
Math Counts	Mathcounts 􀂃 Mathcounts is a team competition that occurs in the spring. 􀂃 Only 7th and 8th grade students are eligible to make the team. 􀂃 Practices are held from 7:15-7:45 am, beginning sometime in October, on Mondays & Wednesdays. 􀂃 For further information contact Mrs. Suzanne Schwarz, 634-0489, ext. 466.
Scholar's Bowl	􀂃 Auditions will be held for a 7th and an 8th grade team. 􀂃 There will be four to five members on each team. 􀂃 Practices times are 3:00-3:30 PM. The days are TBA.. 􀂃 There will be 3-4 scholar’s bowl contests during the school year. 􀂃 For further information contact Mrs. Jamie Kennedy, 634-0489, ext. 460.
Robotics	The Smartans and ZooBotics Robotics Teams

From September-December of this year, robotics classes for beginners and advanced students are available through the Fine Arts Academy.  As of November 2, 2009, beginner classes have ended and students must have either attended prerequisite classes and/or have instructor approval to attend the advanced classes. 

Applications for the Smartans Professional Robotics Team and the ZooBotics Team will be available in December.  Try-outs will only be necessary in rare cases.  Team members will be notified in late December or early January.

We will again be competing at WSU's Shocker Mindstorms Competition.   This year's competition date is March 6, 2010.
