About Me

Wichita Collegiate School has long emphasized the developmental approach to early childhood education. Our faculty aspires to teach young children skills and attitudes for a lifetime. We believe young children follow their own unique patterns of growth and consequently, build our instruction around each child's specific needs, interests, and learning style. Teachers are loving guides to learning as they create an environment of respect, trust, and affection. Our program focuses on children's social, cognitive, and language skills; encourages their creativity and their physical coordination; and nurtures their emotional development. We also reserve time for simple play at Collegiate. These times for ‘being a kid’ are times for interaction with other children, times to learn sharing, tolerance, and to experience the benefits of being an integral member of a supportive community.
