Office of the Headmaster
Tom Davis Headmaster

My wife, Debi, and I have been associated with Wichita Collegiate School since 1984 when the first of our four children began attending. That began our 25 year journey as Collegiate parents until our youngest graduated in 2009. All four of our children had wonderful experiences during their time at Collegiate and we can say that it greatly helped to prepare them for college, to guide them to their respective careers and to shape the people whom they are today. That is our family testimony of what a great school Collegiate is.

As our children became more involved in school, I became more involved. I served on the Collegiate Board of Trustees for 13 years. In the year 2000 when the position of Headmaster became open, I applied and was appointed in that same year. Since that time we have seen the campus grow, the curriculum enhanced and the faculty rise to even greater levels of teaching excellence in this ever-changing world.

My wife and I are both graduates of Rice University and I earned a Masters of Business Administration from Wichita State University in 2000. We are involved in our local church and in various community organizations. Although our four children are now grown and having children of their own, we consider all the students at Collegiate our extended family. I cherish the privilege to serve them each day on our campus and I rejoice in seeing each individual child grow and mature through their time with us.

Joan Siefkes Moore '84 Director of Advancement

I am a proud Collegiate "lifer" who started WCS in Kindergarten in 1971.  After graduating in 1984, I graduated from Baylor University with a BA in English Literature and then went to the University of Kansas School of Law where I graduated in 1991.  I am currently a member of the Kansas Bar.

From 1991-93, I worked for the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department in Houston, TX where I worked in the juvenile law area.  From 1993-97 I worked as an attorney at the American Society of Travel Agents in Alexandria, VA (outside of Washington, D.C.) where I traveled the world with my husband Tom, who was working at the National Institutes of Health as an Infectious Diseases Fellow.

After returning to our hometown in 1997, I joined the WCS Alumni Board, serving as the President in 1999-2000 and for the next 14 years, served the Wichita community as a volunteer leader for WCS, the Junior League of Wichita, the Sedgwick County Medical Alliance, Arts Partners, Kidzcope, and the Wichita Grand Opera.

After serving nine years on the WCS Board of Trustees, three years as the Development Chair and the last three years as Chair of the Board, we relocated with our family to New Orleans for two years.  We returned to Wichita in 2012 when I took the job as Director of Development and am now the Director of Advancement.  I oversee the areas of development (fundraising), marketing, communication, alumni relations, digital media and admission.  Tom is a physician with Infectious Disease Consultants and we have two awesome kids, Gracie, Class of 2017 and Ian, Class of 2020.  It is my privilege and honor to work for the school that has been a fundamental part of my life since 1971.

Susan Klingenberg Administrative Assistant for the Advancement Office

Susan Klingenberg has been at WCS since July of 1988, way back in the dark ages when women faculty were not allowed to wear pants to work, student uniforms had just been discontinued and there were only about 500 students.  Many changes have happened since then!  Since starting in the Development Office, she transferred to the Upper School, where she was for 10 years.  She transferred back to the Development Office, which is now the Advancement Office, in June of 2000.  Part of her duties include keeping up with all WCS alums, now numbering over 2000.  It can be a tough job since they are in almost every state and in several different countries too!  Susan is also an assistant Kickin’ Kids and adult Karate instructor in the after school program and the City of Wichita Parks Department.

Ann Rai Head of Middle School

I have had a broad career in education over the past 28 years working with students of all ages and backgrounds in a variety of settings. Many of those years I served as a school counselor.  I have an undergraduate degree from Wake Forest University, a Master’s Degree from the University of North Florida, and a Doctorate from the University of Florida in Counselor Education.

Serving in the role of Head of Middle School for the past 8 years has been a privilege. I count it a blessing to work with such dedicated and talented faculty, curious and intelligent students and supportive and caring parents. This is the winning combination for preparing students for success in college and beyond.

I am also delighted that my two children and husband can participate in the life of Collegiate. WCS has enriched our family’s life in many ways. I know that my girls are receiving a quality education and are being nurtured to become all that they can be.

I have been fortunate to work in a variety of supportive roles throughout my career; as an airline attendant, dental assistant, coordinator in the district attorney’s office, executive staff for non-profit organizations, scheduler for a Kansas congressman, partner in our family business and an executive assistant in a private corporation.   My mother worked for Robert Love for many years and was actively involved with the beginning years of WCS.  My brother graduated WCS in 1978, my daughters attended WCS through the 8th grade, and my grandson is currently a 6th grader.  Suffice it to say, I have very strong ties to this wonderful institution and I am extremely proud to be a part of the staff….it’s my extended family!
